Mondioring - a spectacular dog ring sport - makes first steps in Serbia. We try to support this development and make Serbian language version of the Rules of mondioring that are in French in the FCI original. We hope that it'll give many dog lovers a possibility to knew more about mondioring and to widen the group of followers. With this post you can find the translation of the beginning of the Rules
Mondioring - an exciting dog sport - which is now getting popular in Serbia. It consists of obedience, jumping and defense exercises, and requires good physical condition, high ability to learn, reaction and hardiness of a dog. Malinois is the No1breed in this ring sport.
Mondioring
is an exciting ring sport which requires well trained participants and their dogs
(mostly malinois), as well as decoys or helpers of high professional skills:
deep knowledge of dog’s behavior, intensive physical training, reaction and – a
good sense of humor.
Mondioring
is a young sport. However, it takes its start in late XIX century when soldiers
showed – for getting money - defense
skills of their dogs. Step by step some rules were developed and first
competitions were organized.In
different countries – mostly in France, Belgium, Germany – very similar
trainings were performed. To harmonize the principles and rules of these
trainings, to increase their popularity European mondioringclubs held a meeting. The new term –
mondioring (world ring) – and unified rules emerged as a result of this
conference. Now the FCI publicized official rules of mondioring and every year
two grand championships and a lot of minor competitions are held. A helper, or
decoy (homme assistant – in French) should pass special tests (attestation) for
working in mondioring.
We thought a lot about the image of the logo of our dog hotel "Life with dogs" - Pansion za psima "Zivot za pse". We tried many variants and were satisfied with none. Unless we looked at our charming herder or Dutch Shepherd dog (http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/dutchshepherd.htm) Gina. She gave us a real inspiration for creating this laconic and - we hope - elegant logo.
Our Gina del Nakuru - feminine, brave and playful.

What does your pet eat? Meat or chicken or dry food? Whatever he/she eats give him?her vegetables and fruits. Carrots and apples will be OK mostly for all dogs. You can try to widen the menu. Our dogs (but not all of them) adore apricots, plums and even water melon. However, be cautious, give fruits by little pieces. Good luck !
Dog flipping is the term used for a new trend, people stealing dogs from yards or taking tied-out dogs. Then they selling them, most often back to the original owners. The dog flippers use Internet services such as Craig's list.
According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), dog thefts are on the rise, increasing 27.8% between January and May compared to a year ago. For the most part unsupervised dogs are swiped. Though there are even reports of "dog sitters" who become "dog takers." In Chicago one woman was even reportedly accosted for her dog, though that type of direct theft appears rare.
The so-called flippers make out with anywhere from a lowly $50 to a few thousand dollars per dog, depending on if the dog is a pure bred pup (some breeds are worth more), and the reward dollars (some people can't afford or won't pay out a hefty reward).
There are three really effective ways to deter this recent and alarming trend:
- Since the overwhelming majority of dogs are swiped when unsupervised, simply don't allow dogs to languish in yards alone. And don't tie-up dogs at the local Starbucks or retail store. If you know aren't able to bring the dog inside, don't walk there with your dog in the first place.
- While proving dog theft is challenging (more on that to come), it's easy to prove the dog belonged to you all along. The flippers remove dog collars, and - of course - deny they've stolen the dog. They don't suggest they've found a lost dog. Instead, they tend to give the dog a new identity. The only way to prove the dog was yours in the first place is to microchip. If you've already microchipped your dog, make sure the information in the data base of your microchip provider (your phone number, email address and street address) are up to date.
- Make sure to check that your pet sitter check is legit.
Of course, 'dog-napping' is against the law, but proving that is difficult. If you tie out the dog in front of a coffee shop or leave the dog in the yard - who's to say the dog didn't somehow get loose from and walk off, or get out of the yard? The flippers not only obviously deny theft, but contend it's been their dog all along. Even IF theft could be proven, by law the penalty may be equivalent to stealing a bicycle or making off with an extra shovel stored in your yard since pets are technically deemed property by law.
Avoiding the opportunity is best.

Many pet food companies use the cheapest ingredients they can find. Whether it comes from dead diseased animals, road kill, or euthanized pets from shelters. These ingredients are not suitable for human consumption. Do you really want to feed your dog this? Learn to read ingredients. Or go with a canned dog food with less fillers and more nutrition. Feeding these foods will shorten the life of your dog, cause many horrible diseases, seizures, joint issues, and will be sick more often.
On the site below you can find a listing of some of the popular or inexpensive brands that contain harmful, unnecessary and outright dangerous ingredients which are highlighted in red. Not all bad ingredients are in red. (Read at bottom of this page for more) This is not a complete list; unfortunately there are many more brands on the market. Each manufacturer’s website offers a complete ingredient listing and nutritional value analysis of their products. If a specific brand of food is not listed here it does not mean it is bad or good, just check the brand’s website and read the ingredients.
Feeding your pet the same food everyday of its life, will cause many issues. (Liver and kidney failure, diabetes, arthritis and many other illnesses.) These pet foods are lacking certain nutrients. Also many of the ingredients are sourced from China. DO NOT FEED YOUR PET PRODUCTS FROM CHINA! (Includes treats, chew bones, etc.) Buy grain-free to help eliminate allergic reactions. Remember, the top 5 ingredients are the very most important. If they are not good, then you shouldn't feed your pet that.
Dry Foods offer no nutritional value. Canned is better due to more moisture content as it still holds some nutrients.
The best diet you can feed your dog is a Raw diet. Veterinarians were not taught about good nutrition in college. So do your homework. Find a good holistic vet or animal nutritionist that is educated in nutrition. Whatever you do, remember, this is your furry family member. It is your responsibility as a pet parent to give the best foods you can provide to extend his/her quality of life. Which means less visits to the vet.
DOGS ARE CARNIVORES: following the long ancestral history as canids. Pet Food Companies have people believing otherwise since humans eat veggies and fruits so beware.
These foods below have corn as the main ingredient. Use these examples as a comparative guide to what you shouldnot be feeding your dog.
Most of the foods listed on the site below have killed dogs and still are to date!
In the morning our dogs found a baby loir on the entrance staircase. It was clear that the baby loir fell from his home under the roof and needed help. The rescue operation was successful and the loir returned to his family :)

Summer is not an easy period for your pets. Particularly when its too hot - + 25 and higher. + 35 is unbearable. Let your pets relax where they choose. They should have fresh water all day round. Walk them out early in the morning and late in the evening. Better to stop any training. If you have an aged dog it might be necessary to give him/her pills to support heart working.
